Funding metadata in OpenAlex: update and future directions
Thanks to a transformative grant from Wellcome of $3.6M over three years, we're working to integrate funding metadata into OpenAlex. Our goal: to have the most comprehensive research funding database connected to other parts of the research ecosystem (institutions, authors, topics, funded outputs, etc.) openly available. Researchers, institutions, and funders will have all their funding intelligence needs met by an open system with open data. In this webinar, Kyle Demes (OpenAlex COO) will review work to date, highlight future directions, and provide more information for funders who are interested in making their metadata more available.

A beginner's guide to vibe coding with OpenAlex
Our recent webinar demonstrated the potential of vibe coding with OpenAlex to fundamentally transform research analytics. We heard from OpenAlex users who have never coded that they're keen to start vibe coding, asking for a more introductory tutorial using your use cases. And so that's what we're doing! Use this form to suggest your own use case and in our next webinar, we'll pick a few to go over starting from scratch: https://forms.gle/2L9iKVAj5uzyfpGL8

Accurate Affiliations, Accurate Attributions: How Institutions Can Improve Institutional Research Tracking with OpenAlex & ROR
Institutions need accurate lists of their publications for critical research intelligence use cases. These lists are built from affiliation data, and automated matching makes mistakes. This webinar demonstrates how curating ROR records and validating OpenAlex’s affiliation-to-ROR matches leads to more complete and trustworthy institutional research records.
Speakers include Kyle Demes (COO, OpenAlex) and Amanda French (ROR, Technical Community Manager).
