# Getting involved

OpenAlex is built with its community — here's how to follow along and have a say.

## Roadmap

Our roadmap is public, and we update it every quarter at our community town halls, where CEO Jason Priem walks through what we shipped and what's next. Everything lives in the [town hall notes repository on GitHub](https://github.com/ourresearch/town-hall-notes): each quarter's roadmap, a retro of what shipped, presentation materials and the full transcript, and our written answers to questions from the call. It keeps every past roadmap too, so you can track our progress against what we promised. ## Mailing lists

There are two Google groups:

- **[OpenAlex Community](https://groups.google.com/g/openalex-community)** — the main community forum: user discussion and questions.
- **[OpenAlex User Group](https://groups.google.com/g/openalex-users)** — our announcement list.

## Community Advisory Board

The 12-member Community Advisory Board helps guide OpenAlex's direction. Nominating candidates is a benefit for institutional supporters ([Member, Member+, and Partner](/access/pricing/)). We replace 6 board members annually: the next election is December 2026 for January 2027 seats, with a call for nominations going out to supporters in fall 2026. ## Supporter roundtables

Institutional supporters also get quarterly roundtable meetings: open-forum discussions of development priorities, held directly with our product team. Calendar invites go to each institution's supporter contacts; additional attendees from your institution are welcome — just [let us know](mailto:kyle@openalex.org).
